One gun what would it be?

If you could only own one calibre rifle,in one make and model, with one scope in one make and model what would it be? I'm sure it's been asked before but I'm asking again.

Probably Ruger American Predator in 7mm-08 with the Bushnell AR Optics 4.5-18x40, in the MDT LSS chassis. Will do subsonic 78gn loads for smaller game, up to 175gn bullets for big deer species.

But I would sorely miss not having a .22LR.

You are going to get boring predictable answers which is why most guys have a 223 or a 308. One rifle and I lived in Africa, 378 Weatherby Magnum.

6.5x55 in something left hand preferably a mauser if they made one, game reaper 1 piece mount. If it was 1 rifle I could afford an expensive scope don't know what Id get there as I've only ever looked through 1 in my life which was a swashki or however you spell it and to be honest I didn't go wow you can tell this is a mega dollar scope by looking through it, so Id need to look through a few before I decided.

Easy - as-issued m1917 30-06, and a bag of stripper clips.

Outside of Australia? The M14 all day long baby.

Both with m1907 slings.

223 rem in any bolt. Cheap, can take most things if your head shooting is good. Download it with fast pistol powders for anything from 22LR, 22mag or 22 hornet power levels. Long range bullets if I need to play long range ninja. Barnes bullets for more penetration on medium game. I am actually not overly excited by the calibre, in fact I cant even be bothered using the one I bought last year, but if we were forced to have one only, it would be it. :)

Good chance they'd struggle to use one for its intended purpose to ...they'd definitely keep em well polished though.

Mmm, hard question. I could narrow it down to two of my rifles. My 7-08 tikka is a good choice. 120gn for light stuff, and it’ll shoot 150’s with enough energy to knock red deer. But, to hunt medium to large game all over this country it would be hard to go past my L61 30-06 sako. 150’s fast and flat for goats, pigs and all the run of the mill stuff, 180’s for sambar, 200-220gn woodleigh/partitions for big game. Common ar2208 and 2209 works well in both

Hi, my first post as just stumbled across this forum. I've been mulling this for a bit now, looking at mainly scout guns etc. Just ordered a Kahles K16i, and will be going on a Springfield Waypoint 2020 with carbon barrel in 308 which I should have in September. Hoping should be good from zero up to couple hundred metres with the 6x zoom. My dream gun would Weatherby Mark V Deluxe in 257 magnum. There's one right now on SSAA gun sales for $2,500...

Sako A2 with switch barrels in .243 and 308 topped with a 2 to 7 Leupold and a spare higher power scope also in original Sako mounts . Technically that's one gun .

.22LR, bolt action, 3-9 x ? scope. Probably the rifle I'd go to for 95% of tasks.
