Sako A7 Roughtechs

Post by veep » 01 May 2014, 11:12 am

Hey guys,

I'm looking at the new Sako A7 Roughtech.

There's some mixed feedback on the original A7 synthetic, but the Roughtech looks like quite a bit's been done.

New stocks, different models available. Medium or heavy barrel configs.

I did some Googling but haven't found any Aus dealers with them on their website. I guess they're not here yet?

Anyone had a go of one yet?

Nice looking setup on the 'Range' model.

Bi-pod and sling attachments, and the raised cheek piece.

I'm looking to purchase the new Sako Roughtech range model in the 300 wsm caliber. I can't seem to find any distributors and was wondering if anyone had any luck finding sales information? Thank you in advance.

Anyone who deals Beretta Australia products will be able to get them, if Beretta decides to import them.

They look a really good bit of gear. I like the original A7 actually for a knockabout rifle. Shame they only have a 3 shot mag but if you are buying a magnum its still a 3 shot so no difference really.

300WSM in the stainless would be a sweet deer rifle.

Straight from Beretta Australia

Cheers zook.

Waiting till September for solid pricing I guess.

Who'd order one without knowing the price

So Veep did you end up buying one of these?
I hope to be picking mine up next week and wondered if anyone else has one? What do they think of it?

Plastic stock's are never great.

The A7 has gotten pretty good feedback, dropping it some nicer furniture could only make it feel better :)

Finally picked up my new Roughtech today.
Guess I will see what it's about this weekend when I take it out west. Will have to squeeze a range day in first though ;)

One exception to that is the Sauer 101 I think.

As long as you're not expecting them to be the same as the Sako 85 they're a good rifle, perfectly serviceable.

That's not knocking them either, of course you can't fairly compare them to a rifle twice the price.

Dunno why people still insist on calling them 'cheap sakos'

Tikka are a good rifle in their own right, doesn't matter what other company/factory does other good rifles or them.

Just call a Tikka a Tikka
