okay for factory ammo, no good for reloading unless you have a lot of magnum pistol powder lying about. Or until 2205 is back on the market/someone starts importing alliant again.

How old is Nick now anywy, he must be pushing 90? I mean seriously.

Edited to say just saw one link he was born in 1931, so he is 91 this year. Not bad, still writing.

The only writing I’ll be doing at 91 will be fingernail scratches into the lid of my coffin

Lol.

Personally I'd just go 308.
You can load them back a bit but can't load them up too far.

the 350 is ok for what it is .
it is designed to be used in areas were center fire rifles are not allowed to be used for hunting.
i have one and have not did much with it there is only 2 factory loads for it right now i have dies for it to load.
there are a lot of older stuff out there that you can get and reload for and the choices on factory rounds are better it is real close to the 3030.
It boils down to if that is what you like and will work for you get it and enjoy it.

Um....its a centrefire.....its designed for States in America which only allow straight wall cartridges for deer hunting, not ones that disallow centrefire cartridges....
Its also meant to be the world's fastest straight wall cartridges, which is a load,as the fastest load I have seen from it is 2350fps,and there's loads for several other straight wall cartridges that match or exceed that already, especially if you handload. Hardly a legend.

I still have a letter Nick Harvey sent me in the early 80's when I "asked Uncle Nick" as barely a teenager. He would have been in his 30's or 40's back then, and I'm in well into my 50's now.

I'm a bit conflicted about the 350 Legend. It's not as fast as the 35 Remington - which is better than the 30/30 but is still basically a 100 yard cartridge. According to Nathan Foster's research you have to be over 2100 fps for fast killing in a 35 calibre and the legend isn't getting that with any bullet heavier than about 150 grains.

Nathan Foster's wife Stephanie did a video on the 350 legend and it didn't think very highly of it on goats https://youtu.be/Um5otKaH2QI.

I'm hoping that Ruger will bring out the Marlin 336 in 35 Remington.

This is always the problem when you move away from the popular chamberings.
Ammo and components are harder to find and usually far from cheap.

I've been shooting the 350 for a few seasons now and honestly it's a fantastic scrub gun. I can shoot 1" groups all day long and it's great for 100-200m ranges. It punches very heavily and it's as cheap as chips to run. It might be overhyped and a cartridge to meet a specific law in the states, but I honestly love it as a round. Great for shorter or smaller shooters. I'm only 170cm and 60kgs but I really appreciate it sometimes compared to the 308 and 30-06.

I agree it's not something I reload but it's cheap enough I'm not too fussed.

Looking at one at the moment - basically a 223 necked up to fire a 35 calibre slug.....and tweaked a bit down the bottom to make case ejection more reliable.
Ballistically - same as the 30-30 and 7.62x39 - but firing a heavier bullet to the cause.

Yes cheap to run - any low on recoil too.

Will it be a flash in the pan .......in Australia probably yes...........in the USA their will be applications as it was made for a niche market.
