What length is the barrel? Given the 17" of the Czech Vz24 bayonet there, that barrel looks like the 16" Police model.

17 inch, not too short
a while ago I seriously considered to purchase the Mossberg MVP scout 308 but I found this one, same price so I bought the FN instead of MVP
although I really like the peep sight on the MVP and then found a M96 with factory peep sight ....

bolt SN doesn't match the receiver

This is the Final Proof mark of the Liege Proof House, showing the action has undergone proof firings at 50% overload.

I have a Spanish 95 cavalry carbine, very similar to that, which I shoot service rifle with sometimes. It was rechambered in 308 somewhere along the line. To mitigate recoil, my current load is 36gr 07 under a 125gr pill, for 100% burn, out of the short barrel. Very pleasant to shoot and still flat and accurate at 100m. One day I will design a 155gr load over 07, with pressure considered in the small ring. That's not a listed load, so people start freaking out.
