Nice to see, I just swapped the Soderin on one of mine for an Elit. What colour Elevation ring is yours?

Looks like all the paint has worn off over time, hard to tell from the pics but it looks like traces of white in the 350 and 275m lines which would indicate it as being for the Norma "Silver Match" ammo at 800m/s velocity, pretty close to the Norma m/41 packet you show there which was rated at 790m/s in the m/96 and Soderin had a Yellow painted dial for that ammo. There are 2 other colours, Red for the "Falt Torped" 830m/s and Green for the Norma Sharpshooters 850m/s ammo.

I remember seeing a shipping palette full of those here in Sydney in a storeroom and I got my pick of two of them, they shot great. Picked this up a long time ago and thought that it might interest you, and I can't believe how much all this stuff has increased in value, but I guess that's what happens when there are hardly any more military bolt action rifles being sold out of government stores anyway that's a good looking rifle, and yes it's an original m41 sniper with the super rare experimental scope as shown in the crown jewels book

I have got one with the Elit dioptre.
It's a 96/38 though, so shorter line of sight.
And the front post is the usual military one, not the circular insert.

Back in Europe my best result at 100m was the attached, with factory S&B.

I recently got suitable circular inserts for the front post.
I have good hope that with that circular insert and my own handloads, I should be able to do much better than the above!
Planning to use Lapua Scenar 136gn with somewhere between 42gn and 43.5gn of 2209

Cheers,
Vince

Does that 6.5 ammo have nickel coated projectiles ? They make a fair stalking rifle because the cock on closing is very quiet to cycle .

If that ammo has nickel coated projectiles they can suffer from neck welding after a long time .

Something very wrong with that 100m target. All things considered, they should almost be stacking at such a distance.

That was my target

Well I agree it's a bit disappointing somehow, this is 92/100 and I have done much better with other rifles.
this was a front blade and S&B factory ammo.

Since then, I have replaced the front blade with a circular insert.
And I have a load development in mind:
41 to 43 grains of 2209 with a Lapua 136gn projectile.

We will see if it gets better!

Sorry - wasn't an attack, I'm sure you can shoot well. If the group doesn't come in substantially with such handloads and front globe, i'd be considering the condition of the barrel and/or peharps the bedding. By all accounts a swede should be sub 2 moa off the bench, even for x10 or more, over factory irons. They are renowned for their accuracy. Good luck and keep us posted!! PS with a blade, if you are going purely for groups, try a 6o'clock hold...
