I just picked up my 5R 223 last week. I don't have it scoped yet so haven't been to the range so far.
quality of finish is high and the stainless barrel and jewelled bolt look hot. working the bolt is fairly smooth considering it will smooth with usage. I cycled a few snap caps through it and it all feels very nice.
I considered the t3 and also a howa varmint and some of the other R700s. I decided to spend the extra and get the 5R as it will mainly be used as bench/range and all reports are that they have very good accuracy (I need all the help I can get). I registered my warranty online and also did the serial # check and mine's subject to recall at some stage. the guy at the gun shop (Abela's in Sydney) said they are going to get a trigger-smith in to do the Rem recall work, they'll let me know.
so far I have no regret with my purchase. I hope to get some rings and a scope in the next two weeks then hit the range.
