Yeah I still post, I hunt every Friday nite & Sat, work has me interstate every fortnite some times weekly. Just busy than normal.

I culled my half my gun safe last year and yes I did throw the 500 up for sale, but I acutally dont wont to sell it now  and its been a on a few hunts recently.

Lets just say it cuts a big hole in animals, I almost took it out on a dawn hunt today but the Howa Super lite 308 went instead

Hey mate, no I'll stick with 44. Was just cruising old threads. I think it would be very hard to feed now if someone doesnt have good stock of pistol powders. it burns 40+ grains a shot

Nice mate, I recall you had a decent supply of 300-MP powder to feed it as well.

Well now that I've picked up 4lbs of N110 the 500 S&W has been dragged out of the gunsafe.

Gave the 500 a quick paint job yesterday and I'm pretty happy with the result, going to do some load development with N110 and 300gr FTX and shoot a few pigs and deer over summer.

Billo Im super interested to see how N110 goes in it. I see there is a 500SW single shot going for sale on used guns too. Its the type of project you need to have a serious supply of magnum pistol powder.

The case was pretty much perfectly designed for the largest charges of magnum pistol powders possible as you know. Rifle powders are too slow, faster magnum pistol powders like 2400 are just a bit fast. ( for max power) So its stuff like Win 296, 300-MP, Lilgun traditionally needed for full house loads.

N110 has promising load data though, in fact some of the velocities listred for it in 357 and 44mag has it coming close to Lilgun etc with considerably lower charges..... Always wondered as a result if there was a little blue sky in the numbers.... Im hoping not, I bought some myself too. :)

Hey mickb N110 gave me exactly the same speed as Power Pro 300MP which is same same as Lil gun and W296.

The FTXs limit overall capacity inside the case compared to say an XTP, I managed a very consistent 2295fps with only 42.5gr, ES was single digits and lots of bullet holes touching at 50m. Its not the easiest gun to shoot off the bench but manageable.

Yeah I saw that TC online at $2k, it would be a good buying with dies and brass
