Very nice, I've been trying to snaffle one of these from my friend for a few years now, but he won't do the right thing and surrender. These Mosquefal shoot very well with F4/M80 ammo. If your friend is interested Lawrance Ordnance have the correct bayonet at a reasonable price, thanks for sharing.

This pure badass beauty was on my list since I arrived in Australia almost 3 years ago, and I have only ever seen one for sale! (I was not fast enough sadly).
Ultimately I have given up and its spot in the safe was taken by another rifle.

So now I demand a full report, like how is it shooting-wise etc...
Is the rear peep sight windage adjustable by the way?

And where did your friend find it?

These are a conversion of the initial Brazilian Model 1908 Mauser made by DWM Germany. In 1934 the rifle was shortened and re-named M1908/34 Short Rifle, then in 1949 they were chambered for the 30-06 and re-named M949 (the 1 was dropped from the name) In 1954 the rifle was re-modeled, a threaded muzzle with a G43 style flash suppressor or grenade launcher, as well as new rifles being made at the Brazilian State Arsenal at Itajuba. In 1968 the rifles were further modified by re-barreling to 7.62NATO, an FN FAL style flash hider, and a G3 style rear sight. Simon has original bayonets for this model.
