First .223 purchased - Tikka T3 Super Varmint

Post by newgunner » 19 May 2014, 9:51 pm

Hi fellow shooters,

Thanks for all your help and suggestions in finding my first 223 bolt action.

I managed to pick up a Tikka T3 super varmint second hand in great condition for $750.00.

I'm not sure if it was a good choice, had the option of a brand new Howa 1500 in 223 for $805.00 with a camo stock?

Went with the tikka for its reputation and build quality, I hope in this case it's still ok, seemed to check out ok.

Good crown, no pitting in barrel or on bolt surface or in the action I could see.

Will find out soon I guess.

Now just need my PTA and license so I can shoot my new toy!

Cheers.

Great buy at that price. A standard varmint in excellent could go for as much as $1000 so you bought well

I'm sure it will give you many thousands or rounds of service

From the sounds of that I don't think you'll have any problems.
