Linear compensator

Anyone ever used a linear compensator? Especially on something like a 308 ? If so,does it actually do anything like reduce muzzle rise and redirect muzzle noise ?

Mechanically it looks like exaggeration to me. I can't see that it will have much noticeable effect on recoil or noise . It may have some effect on reducing muzzle jump because the jet effect is broken up over multiple holes but that could possibly effect accuracy as the bullet is no longer leaving a sharp clean crowned edge . There is now turbulent gas ejection around the bullet as it exits . It's impossible to say if that affects accuracy or not you would have to try one . Might be a way to cover up a thread on the muzzle .

What physics are you referring to ? Link to the Physics of how muzzle gas exit effects the bullets accuracy .
