GSR Fondling

OK My GSR hit town today and I got to have a fondle at the dealers. I'm pretty happy. I did notice one thing, has anyone else noticed the stock up against the barrel on the non bolt side seems to be a little more snug ? Or is it just mine? I did try slipping a $5 note between the barrel and stock and that was fine, so it does seem to be floated.

Lol. Nothing wrong with that.

A lot if dealers won't ket you take pics of guns in the shop for some reason.

How long till you can take it home? What scope are you going to put on it or are you going to use it with the sights?

Well I do have an In with a local dealer ( Since Im his son, lol ) I was having a look at the open sights, I might give all 3 options a trial and see what comes of it, I have a spare traditional scope and a mate of mine has a pistol scope he doesnt use, so Im sure I can bribe him for a loan, and see what I think at the end of it all :)

No worries. Mine is the same, very close but does not touch. I took it out this weekend, I sometimes forget how much fun that bad boy is to shoot. Great walkabout rifle, I just slung it across my back and hiked to the top of my Dad's property. Very compact and lightweight.

Here's two pics from when I was hunting with it last season. Note I did not have a scope. But I have added the Burris Scout Scope since.

Mine has been dragged through vic alpine bush a number of times, through dense bracken and wattle and general dirt and mud.

Comes up more or less clean with a few minor scratches.

It's a very rugged platform and the one thing I really appreciate is the safety which cannot snag on things as you are bush bashing.

My hunting buddy's Howa was found it had flicked itself into the fire position all by itself!

And still using the iron sights, Eduardo.

Nice.

I guess they think you're taking pics so you can go find it cheaper somewhere else? I dunno.

GSR = gunshot residue?

Never got that excited about it, more into the smell and where the shots land

You and Noisydad will get on.

He's a black powder smoke junkie.

Spent more time inhaling it at the range than shooting it :lol:
