What do you guys think about this? If you've seen it... The new Remington Muzzle loader?

Image

If you're not going to go the classic option buying a new BP muzzle loaders seems a bit... wanky? I dunno.

If you're buying a new Remington wouldn't it be easier to just get a bolt action repeater?

I like the old muzzle loaders and black powder stuff, not sure about this though?

(Wanky is a pretty harsh description, can't think of a better word at the moment)

Doesn't seem right without some nice timber and bluing for that traditional style.

IMHO.

I dunno I guess every variation on every hobby / sport will be pushed through technology to the edge. Not for me, but I was looking at Noisy's BP collection and see the appeal of the original looking stuff.

Black powder have special hunting seasons here it adds a season you can hunt out side the gun or bow seasons and you do have different camps for each type of gun some guy don't like the in line guns fill black powder seasons should be only side locks and iron sights.

Some states don't allow in line guns during the black powder seasons.

Myself I like to hunt I don't care what you hunt with I have both types it never hurts.

I believe "Wanky" is indeed the correct technical term!
There's still a few of Wile. E Coyote's ideas that I haven't tried yet.

Muzzle loader with a bolt ? That's just not cricket.

Cool.

Nothing like that here as far as I know?

Open season or closed, and you just have to use a suitable calibre when it's open. Doesn't matter which powder you're burning.

I was just wondering about that... I guess you hand load the primed caps and close them in with the bolt?

All too confusing for me

What makes it nice is if you use a model 700 for deer hunt it would not be a big change when you muzzle loader hunt if you have more then one season.

Most the guys here that hunt with these are just trying to extend their hunting season and you don't need loose powder you can get pre-measured pellets and 209 shot gun primers and bullet's and you can go hunting.

Probably a better idea for in the USA where it adds to your season, like you said.

Great if you just want the extra time but don't want all the loading drama of an old-school muzzle loader.
