Tikka T3 CTR Compact Tactical Rifle

I see the TIKKA T3 CTR COMPACT TACTICAL RIFLE
is due for release at the end of july here in oz now do I want a 6.5\260 or a 308???? From all I've read they sure look like a nice bit of kit and a metal 10 shot mag makes it more appealing for the $$ and a little less than it's rival the Sako, anyone else interested in this rifle :?:  :?:  :?:
I've learned that pleasing everyone is impossible, but pissing everyone off is a piece of cake.

Very interesting. Another alternative to rifles like the Gunsite and such. If I didn't already have the Gunsite I would certainly consider this. Tikka makes a solid rifle.

I am very interested, looks solid. Tell you what, let's all buy one and do a bulk order of 10rd mags :)

Oh and .308

No, I instantly noticed when looking at photos it's no where near as long as the scout mag. This is due to the fact the CTR uses a double stack 10rd magazine unlike the scout's single stack. Hopefully this will also allow for feeding through the top which is the one thing that has completely turned me off the scout :P

You can actually feed through the top with the poly mags Mr Snipes. Cant use a stripper clip though, but even ruger says it's fine to use the poly mags for this they will back them for it :)

Hmm, I have heard this but have always been sceptical of how the magazines will operate reliably over time, as they are a relatively new product. From memory the feed lips are polymer, which makes me think they might not last terribly long smashing rounds in the top?

I watched a few Ruger videos on their website ( cant remember the page ) But Im pretty sure the were made for it, but yeah I think a few people are sceptical on it as it does remove a small amount of plastic on the top of the feed lips over time, so we will have to wait and see. Me I'll just load in another mag :D

It seems they only come in 260 and 308 at the moment but wouldn't be hard to rebarrel one to 7mm-08 though and guys as for top loading a tikka, most tikkas will side load no problems once you adjust the mag!!!!Yep i'm leaning toward the 260 myself

My thoughts are that it will be top loading if it has the TRG mag tho the port may be too small for some guys sausage fingers. Im hoping they have one at the shot show today.

I think you may be mistaken mate.

I shouldered one today in 308. They are going to be a very good culling/hunting rifle.

This thing is going to sell like hot cakes. its perfectly balencet due to the medium profile 20" barrel. Its a kind of do it all rifle good for long range or good for short range scrub work. The Beretta Au rep said they are pushing tikka to release one in 223 that will take AR mags.
Its priced right too $1400ish. Also its 10 round mag doesn't stick down too far so you can use it as something to hold on too with your from hand when firing.

I'd say so.

Just look at the Ruger scout, all the Ruger boys went insane for them.

Similar getup here, except this will shoot like a Tikka ;)
