Browning Maral accuracy

Post by dorpel » 23 Jun 2014, 11:57 am

G'day,

My old man has his eye on the Browning Maral but isn't going to buy it for himself as it's a bit above the budget at $2,700.

You only live once though, his 60th is coming up though and the family thought we band together and get him one :)

I've tried the local blokes and can't find anyone who's got or shot one though.

Anyone here shooting one? Or had a blast at least? How is the accuracy?

The take-down rear of the stock is a big appeal from him, and I reckon this should be more accurate than the Browning BLR which takes down in the middle of the action?

Thanks in advance.

Like you I hand no first or second hand knowledge mate. But as every other rifle maker does they are claiming great accuracy... In this case I think they might actually be right, but thats just a thought.

I'd give such huge points for a rifle maker saying "look, it's not super accurate but it's enough for hunting and it's not real expensive. You'll hit something big at 150m or 200m. Go on..."

I'd have to buy one just for their honesty

Nice feeling rifles that's for sure.

Love the timber on the one I had a feel of at the shop.

Haven't shot or owned though so not much useful info for you sorry.

I can't find anyone with a few group photos from one :(

I've done a bunch of googling the last few nights for shot groups and had no luck.

A lot of cash to put up without knowing how it shoots. Grrrrr.

Not really much substance here but a cool (short) video on them here.

Lots of deer and nothing but Maral's so they're working for those blokes.

Not great marketing to review the lemon that fell off the bench during assembly I guess

I bet they hand pick a few of these before they send em to reviewers (if they know that's where they are going).

Yep I reckon they would too - I'd be surprised if they didn't to be honest. ;)

It's good that a few of the more serious reviewers on YouTube buy off the shelf stuff instead of approaching dealers for it I reckon.

Then you know you've got the same product us Average Joe's will end up with and not the hand polished version.
