Troy PAR, might be coming to Australia

I heard a whisper these might me coming to Australia. A quick acting pump in .223, AR based ( similar look ). Heres some info on them.... I wonder if "imminent zombie outbreak" is a genuine reason ??? or a ticket to the nuthouse

Looks the goods but it will probably get sunk by the "looks like a military weapon" law.

If I remember correctly there was an aussie company making straight pull AR style rifles a while back but I think it all fell over

Nothing will stop any semiauto from coming to Aus....
Its the category or more so the RECLASSIFIED category thats the problem,

I'd put money on it being reclassified as a cat D by the firearm eggspurts at the VIC registry...at the first hint of someone wanting one. I however its regisered by a punter as cat B... they soon be parting ways

It's still just a pump action rifle so it should be cat B. But yeah definitely looks military so that would be an issue

Isn't a 'pistol grip' a bit of a red flag here too?

I think you might be confusing that with the US Assault Weapons Ban, pmomd.

You might have seen it, there is a poster type image going around showing how some of it doesn't make much sense. A shotgun with a standard grip is legal, the exact same shotgun with a pistol grip is an "assault weapon" according to the information.

Back to Aus... Plenty of pistols grip rifles here, off the top of my head some of the Savage Bench rifles which are category B licensed have a pistol grip.

I was positive about getting a little action from the Russian Princess tonight and she sounded very positive when she said no chance

Interesting looking rifle and as Chronos pointed out the folding stock rules it out for NSW as it'll be under the minimum length requirements when folded. Plenty of pump action rifles on the market so if they bring out a fixed stock option it should comply for import as a Cat B in NSW. It's only AR compatible for Mags & Triggers so no chance of swapping upper or lower receivers around with proper AR's.
