How long did "just one rifle" last for you?

You know how everyone starts out shooting saying "I'm only going to have 1 rifle"...

How long did that last for you before you knew it was nonsense?

People actually start with silly notions like that? Really? :?: :?:
It never even entered the equation that one would be enough. Currently working on the number being seven and three handguns. Probably gonna be more though.....

I don't even own the one yet, and I know this won't happen. Ha
.22LR, .222 Remington, .12g. But it's not the same when they don't live in your safe :P

Sill have the .22 single shot BSA Dad gave me 50 years ago, my only rifle. I use it to shoot the occasional bunny, I do have other guns but they are all hand guns.

I had an old Harrington Richardson 12 gauge for about 5 years that was given to me by my dad (the same gun he learnt to shoot with ) before I thought I should expand the collection
and now I just keep making excuses to buy more and more
im in the market for a new safe at the moment as the next gun wont fit

I really wanted to shoot pistols. my mates convinced me to start with AB first.

my first was a .22, within three months I had four rifles.

I'm still waiting for my H to come through.

knowing I was getting into hunting, I had to cover all bases with small, medium and large game so of course my .22LR first, .243 second and my 54R third. There was no negotiation.

I would love to believe that my first rifle will do me just fine for many years to come. However, I have a bad track record, as is obvious by our 18 cars and counting

I'm not a gun owner yet though.
Back from a break, and ready to shoot again :)

I think a few months until I was sick of driving to Little River to shoot centrefire so I bought my .22LR for the local range instead

Exactly.

When I was going I'd be there at 8:45am to get started ASAP while it was quiet and it was 2pm minimum by the time I'd get home.

And I'd be knackered and it writes off the rest of the day. Rather spend two days camping and hunting than 1 for the range.
