Most popular gauge gun

Here the most popular gauge is 12 but we use them for big game here a lot.

Second is 20 and 16 is what the hard core bird hunters like.

Duck and goose hunters use the 12 and 10 but mostly 12 gauge up to the point steel shot became law for water fowl 16 was it for any thing that flies.

I'd say here 12G is most popular with 410 following it. I cant say Ive actually seen any 16G ammo for a few years come to think of it.

12 gauge without a doubt.

There are .410 bore here and there but it's mostly snake guns for the grass, or for the kids.

Yep, Like Gregg - 12 gauge for everything and 410 for snakes, Sparrows and Starlings around the house.

This was years ago. the mate had a S/B 20 gauge H & R but swapped over to a 12 gauge. Ammo a bit hard to come by.

Can't say that I've ever even seen anyone with a 20 or 16 gauge I don't think...

In my area the 12G is reserved for all manner of winged beasts, the 410 as a snake gun, also sometimes used in a families orchard. A couple blokes I know do use the 12G when going after foxes and bunnys but they seem to be in the minority around here.

I have a few 12 gauge guns when both my sons started hunting I started them on the 20 and they both did well with them less recoil and its a lighter gun.

The 20G does have it's followers here, personally I only know one bloke with one, but a large gun shop in Perth always has a heap of 20G shells and says they are getting popular again.

 most Farmers I know fire two shots per week with the 12G.

Both on Sunday morning when the cockies start going off... Both are misses but loud enough to scare them off and go back to sleep.
