Apparently he needed some cash quick - at the time I thought it was a good fair price but its starting to look like a bit of a bargain. Im waiting for a price from a Sydney Mauser specialist for an insurance estimate.

im currentlty hunting down a / the matching bayonet. I have been imformed that the American market had a few imports - still in grease with matching Brazilian stamped and numbered bayonets plus original slings.
My rifle has the original sling and possibly the original bayonet could still be with the previous owner.
Fingers crossed. ;)
