They don't clear out if your shooting a few hundred metres away huh?

I've had the dopey buggers come up behind me and chew on my hat, the noise doesn't bother them. Usually we'll herd them down to another paddock when shooting but they are calving at the moment so best left undisturbed. Going to head up again in a few weeks time to test the Woodleigh VLD projectiles, ordered another chronograph this morning that works in the conventional way with light so I'll get some velocities this time for sure. Will also put a scope with a tacticool reticle so I can have a better idea on holdovers. The app I use to edit video decided to crap itself so videos may be delayed a little.

52 seconds, that's the DTA?

Looks like it knocks you round a bit.

Yep, that be the DTA alright. It's nice and light being 13kg but with the payback being more recoil. Next trip I'm going to weld a lip accross the bench to pull the bipod back against to reduce some of the recoil reaching the shoulder. After 3 days of big guns there's not a mark orhing of a bruise on my shoulder, in fact it feels better then usual. I put 25 rounds through my mates Ruger .308 and I'm left bruised and sore for a few days so I can see the point of fitting brakes to the smaller calibers.

You wouldn't want to shoot that without a brake.
Browning BL-22 lever action...open sights
T3 Varmint .204 Ruger...Meopta Meostar 4-16X44
T3 Lite .30-06 Sprg...Aimpoint Hunter 1X red dot

....that will do me

It's the pads more than the recoil. Hawkeye factory pads are crap. The Scout one is ok, but I credit the heavier rifle with reducing it more than the recoil pad.

Sticking a limbsaver on my Hawkeye .308 made it feel like the recoil halved.
