The Ruger® Gunsite Scout Rifle, the one rifle to have if you could have only one. It is the perfect lightweight, hard-hitting, do-it-all bolt-action rifle.
Ruger have announced they're now doing one in .223 as well. This I'm not so sure about...
The "one rifle" idea - I wouldn't have a .223
The Scout isn't actually all that light but for a .308 a little weight to reduce the kick isn't a bad thing so I have no complaints. For a .223 I'd say it's heavy.
"Hard hitting" - Nope, not in .223,
"Do-it-all" - Just nope.
I'm thinking they've gotten carried away with the hype they generated with the .308 scout. I can't think who will buy one of these in .223.
What are peoples thoughts on this?
