You'll need a licence first.

Hahahah. Yeah, thats obvious... lol

I was just having a look at military grade sniper rifles builds, and the Rem 700 and the tikka kept getting mentioned.

I want to build one in .308 or a like caliber, and so it is in par in accuracy with a Scout Recon/USMC sniper rifle. Any ideas?

Google for a parts list/ build. There should be heaps from the US then copy and acquire parts. Probably cost a fortune though lol. From memory some mob offered them pre-made as exact copies but they were like $5000
.177, .22lr, .22-250R, 2x .308W, .30-30W, 7.62x54r, 8x56r, 9x19, .357 Mag, 12GA

You could buy a surgeon/deviant/pierce action with built in recoil lug and pic rail, they retail for about $1300-1500 in the USA, a Bartlein or Kreiger barrel could be fitted with a jewel trigger,Bartlein have a price list on their website yet they have a 6-8 month wait due to a backlog of orders.

Then it is just a matter of deciding what stock to use.

Or you could buy a surgeon scalpel they are about $3.5K in the USA and organise to have it shipped over.

The snipers in the USA mainly use Barrett rifles, there is a forum member here with a M98B Barrett who has posted pics, nice rifle.

A few guys have done them, but built them themselves right off a remmy action. I think there was a smith who was doing them too at one point, but for the life of me I cant remember who.
