Recent upgrade to my R700

Post by Qldshooter » 16 Oct 2014, 11:29 pm

Hi guys and girls

I'm new to this forum, since shooting com.au has been taken over by a commercial gun dealer, this site looks pretty cool, cheers admin guys.. anyway..I thought I'd share some stuff on my recent upgrade to my Remington 700

I went with the MDT LSS chassis, awesome platform.. My R700 in .223 varmint 26 " slotted in perfectly, no dramas. Extra bits - buffer tube, castle nut, grip and stock.. already have a nice scope.. all up? Got a lazy 800? Went the hi-kor bipod instead of the harris, magpul pistol grip vltor stock..

I just got put onto that after looking at the TAC21 to start.

Liking the lighter chassis, and the lighter price tag

How do you find the length of the LSS forearm? It's always struck me as being a shade to short on 24" barrels.

I'm tossing up between the tac21 or a lss for a 338 edge or 338 ultra mag build.

Hey 1sikxt, I've shot a rem 700 .308 mounted in a tac 21, it was very very nice.. was almost sold on it for mine but ran out of cash..can't see why a 338 would be any different, lotsa good reviews out there
