These blokes work in -20 or -30 conditions, mainly natives used to living outdoors.

Have a look on NITV tomorrow night at 9.30 for watchers of the North a program about the Canadian Rangers. They need something that won't let them down and the LEE Enfield #4 is it (and so far the only one that fills all requirements).

9.30 tomorrow night NITV- watchers of the North, followed by Hunting Aoetero then Characters of Broome, better than the ****** on the other channels.

Let's hope something like this,

The Canadian market is over supplied

The US market won't pay more than $100 for milsurp rifles.

[Canada]Now where can we get rid of this old crap?

Answer, Australia. There used to paying exorbatant prices for old stuff and they will be glad to get it.

"And we will to"

I've got 1 LE but wouldn't mind another. :D

As its in Canada, one might make the assumption that the No4's to be retired would be of Long Branch manufacture - Given the high $ value the LB produced No4's often seem to be, compared to the BSA/Matby/Savage made No 4's not just here in OZ but worldwide, you would think that some enterprising Milsurp dealers in Canada/US/UK and here, would be eager to get hold of the stocks of rifles to be retired.

What happened with the SLRs? I tend to recall reading that a number of them were sent to PNG as some sort of military aid
The rest were probably shredded, melted....

just did this search, I wonder if the rifles actually ended up on display or 'found their way' to the private market:

I think you need to check out Canada's Northern shores proximity to Russia . The World is ROUND remember not flat like the map .
Canada is a very likely target for Russian expansion due to that close proximity and the agreeable climate that would favour Russian equipment and personnel . Not likely to happen due to the USA being big allies and on the same continent but Canada still needs to be able to defend it's self as the major deterrent .

Defend against Russia?? worse things could happen than Russia taking over North 'merica..... the USSA could fall!....it is the USA and the puppeteers controlling the congress who have returned us to cold-war footing pending apparent imminent hot war!

But yes Russia is only about 40km from Aaaaamerica

Just consider, the USA lawmakers are doing everything they can to demonise 'guns' and gun owners.... while Russia gave their citizens the right to carry!!! Makes you think, huh...
