Double barrel AR-15

Post by remnt » 17 Nov 2014, 11:05 am

On a bit of an AR-15 kick at the moment and finding weird things. How about this one.

Silver Shadow has officially unveiled the double barreled AR-15 I blogged about last month. The Gilboa Snake has two barrels that are fired simultaneously, essentially double tapping on a single trigger pull. It will be available in both semi-automatic (two rounds per trigger pull) or full auto. The rifle, with its two 9.5″ barrels, weighs 9.4 lbs.

Yeah that's an interesting bit of kit right there! They pulled off the styling pretty well in my opinion, when considering the look they were trying to achieve. I'd give it a go if it was on offer in a Vegas gun range.

These double barrel things never do anything or me.

Just the next in line, already had the double barrel pistol and double barrel bolt action rifle.

Hit and you wasted the second bullet, miss and you waste 2.

Lose, lose?

Soz to be a kill joy.

It's not meant to be 100% practical, it's meant to be over-the-top and FUN because of it.

And it's ok if it's not your thing and it's perfectly fine to not like it, but I wouldn't be measuring it against how practical or efficient it is. That's like measuring a Ferrari 458 against the practical needs of a family of 5 on a tight fuel budget.

The perfect rifle for drunks, now u can shoot both things when seeing double. Beer goggle safety glasses top out the package. Looks fun and if legal here I'd definitely consider owning one just for s**ts & giggles.

These things have to be publicity stunts just to get the brand name out there right?

I doubt they could actually sell a worthwhile number of these things.

I'd say that's right.

Might not be a sensible gun but could be great marketing.
