1941 Denzil Don gun scabbard - Info wanted

Post by Ruckrova » 16 Jan 2015, 7:39 am

I am trying to find out more information about a 1941 denzil don gun scabbard with them stamp P with an arrow it is leather and has the strap for mounting it in front or behind a saddle.

We think Denzil den was a sporting goods manufacturer in Melbourne mainly aussy rules footballs but may have made gun scabbards in the war years the p and arrow stamp may be a clue as to who this one was made for .

I have some pics but don't have a webpage to host them as yet. If you can help with an information I can email images to you, it is an uncataloged item at the Stanley museum in Tassie.

Thank you in advance.

The mark looks like a standard government acceptance mark, broad arrow. Letter accompanying (P) may be the producers mark, eg L for lithgow, O for Orange etc...

Thanks 1920 I also found this reference at the place.
