Well i finally got it, 8 weeks of waiting which was the longest 8 weeks ever,

but here it is, going away this weekend to the farm so ill be testing it then.

ive been told i should shoot 1 round and clean it for 5 times, then 3 rounds and clean it for 5 times, then 5 rounds and clean it for 5 times, can anyone confirm if i should do this or is there another way?

It's a T3 Lite and shoots the same as when I first got it. I clean it at the end of each day.

Everyone has there own ideas on running in rifles. I found that if I did nothing I still get the same results.

Just been researching various forums and they all say its BS, not sure why the rifle shop said to do it though.

Just give the bore a good clean before you shoot it and it should be fine after that - as to whether you need to run a barrel in who really knows, just run it in by shooting s**t with it!

Good luck and have fun.

Of course they told you to break it in with 100 rounds of ammo..... and they'd be more than happy to supply you with the 100 rounds too!!!

There's a famous how to break in a rifle YouTube video. ...it's a cracker. .anyone got a link, should be stickied for each time this question comes up. :D

With the .243Win, I usually clean bore before shooting as per rifle manual ans leave dry. Bore sight rifle with scope. load & fire Round 1, clean bore with bore solvent and patch out, repeat for Rounds 2 & 3.

Fire 3 rounds, clean with bore solvent and patch out, check group & adjust scope, fire 3 rounds, adjust scope and patch out. If required continue with a further 3 rounds etc. until scope & rifle are zeroed in.

After that, just clean at days end.

Cheers

Dunno what was happening with the photo before as the image was hosted on another website.

I've saved and uploaded the photo to be hosted here instead so it will now be showing for all.
See you on the firing line.
