Hi all,

What's the word on the Remington 783? The 700 has a good following obviously, but can't find anyone with a 783 themselves for feedback, other than usual marketing reviews etc. which always say everything's great.

Only available in a few calibres, not sure why you'd take one over an original Remington 700?

The Remington 783 is a lesser version of the 700 series.

More affordable, but lower quality.

As above, it's an "affordable" version.

Plastic stock vs Walnut and other substitutes along the way.

I wouldn't.

Midway price between Model 700 and 770 series in quality and price.

I can tell you it's not the rifle for me.

I had a feel of the 783 and a 700 at my LGS and the 700 feels far superior IMO.

Haven't shot them both, but did not like the feel of the 783 at all.

Righto. Thanks all.

Typical marketing stuff... Sounded awesome but is just less than the regular gun they offer :/

Sorry for the late reply tiki,

Yep I got a copy of the mag.

It got an ok write-up, didn't end up going with it anyway, but doesn't hurt to ask :)
