I could not find anything that shot consistent groups with the 30-06 and got a .308 so much better, just suits what I do

I'm wading in here a bit late I know,, (3 pages)
Hey there RSJ,, I've got a Rem 700 Mountain in 30/06, which is even lighter I think,

It shoots fine sitting, standing, or prone.

My very first centre fire was a sporterised .303 and as a teenager I never gave recoil much thought.
Then I got a 30/30 years later and thought Wow this might kick. What a bummer, I was disappointed.
Then I bought more,,, and more,,, each time expecting a helluva kick.

It wasn't until I moved into .375 H+H Mag that I was happy,, knowing it did have a bit of a kick.

As for 30/06, I cant pick any difference from a .308

I'm sure you will be happy with yours,,,,, no sweat (we need a sweaty emoticon Mods,,, how about it ?)
I do not fear death itself... Only its inopportune timing!
I've come to realize that,,,,, the two most loving, loyal, and trustworthy females in my entire life were both canines.
