North East ur advice hasn't fallen on deaf ears; it arrived!

After missing out on an old as new Tikka M65 30-06 sold in March I opened my eyes ("looked outside the box") to other 30-06 ads...

Usedguns wasn't loading for me until just 2 hours ago. Tried again and saw rosewood and warm honey wood stock in the vintage I've developed a fetish for.
BRNO CZ 30-06 http://usedguns.com.au/Product.aspx?p=56086

$650 with no fees bulls**t, no haggling done deal on its way and gained a home based LFD and hunting contact in WA in the process. Anyone eat Camel?

Will be interesting for sure. I'd love to score a photo of it in the field in Africa if possible but that may be pushing it. Will ask though. The original owner/seller had a bunch of rifles and was sick of people wanting one here n there so offered the lot. Probably cheap as chips too.

This is the second part time LFD I've met this week. The other replied to my ad offering the Tikka LSA-55 Deluxe .243 so I scrubbed 6.5x55 swede idea. Its a nice example I couldn't pass up.

Both guys do it as a side thing and support their network and their own habit mostly.

I just finished reading the entire guide and some reference material on what's required. Night owl mode again
Next read is Cat C/D just for interest sake of course. Damn vermin !! ;)

Have 1 new CZ Deluxe and these two old school Deluxe styles with the rosewood caps on the way now. I need a job !!

here's the baby Tikka.

The bastard in passing offered me a pre 2005 Ruger Mini 30 cheap and xx bulk load of cheap ammo he scored. The sort of thing as kids we dreamt of having, but the Gevarm A6 and 10/22 were the go.

The C shouldn't be too hard. But a D....its not like I have mobs of pigs rooting my farm.

On the hunt for an original ventilated butt pad more for looks than anything, as seen in example pic below.

I sent two messages to BRNO ZKK rifle ads asking if they had any spare parts to sell.

Just had a guy offer to send me for free, a front sight hood he'd bought years ago from the US.
I offered a fallow for meat to him or any mate he owes a favour to for being so generous. :drinks:

You might be able to get a Limbsaver recoil pad for it. I got one on my T3 Lite, very good fit and a lot more comfortable to shoot than the original recoil pad.

just get back from a Melbourne trip with a new old baby on board and you guys are picking the BRNO's bones that I haven't even received yet. Coming from the other side of the continent that one.

Chronos, I think the phattaz recoil pad will stay on

Scott I will keep you in mind but I have a few vacancies already for the scope if it doesn't stay on this. May suit my 22H very well being fixed 4x.

Collector,

Finally :unknown:
Been sitting with my LGS since Monday. I rang them today and nope not seen it yet, chased up PackSend/TNT and back to my LGS and duddaaah !
Then they ring registry to check something....Unregistered?

I almost had a wee turtle head pop out and thought OFFS no wonder price was better than ok and postage included. ...
Phewwwwww, confirmed it's just never been registered to a private owner in Australia, been sitting on the owner/dealer's inventory since import !

:D back to smiling and ripping the scope and bridge mount off to check model etc.

I like it more now than first impressions of a bargain shooter. It isn't as blonde as the first photos, more like 80's tips or streaks, could be due to different man cave mood lighting.

The surface finish, bolt, bottom metals and barrel are not showing 34 years use. The "20 years stored" is plausible. Bore scoped it and a closer inspection of all bearing surfaces

Will bang some holes in the target freezer today

Should do the job. Just a bit vintage looking compared to what's available these days. Although if you look as a new set of Sako/Tikka or Leupold rings on bases they aren't much different.
