Hi all just wondering if you can buy ammunition online and is it cheaper than in store?

The expense comes from paying a dangerous goods courier to deliver it making it s fair bit more dxpensive than buying in store.

Yes you can buy online. No it's not cheaper than buying instore.

Afaik $180 delivery fee from one store... Which is dangerous goods fee I think. It's worth it if you're buying say 800+ rounds for 308 and maybe some other calibers and odds and ends. Looked into it for 308, don't know about the test. Decided to reload instead.

Dangerous goods freight for 2 spam cans (2x440rounds) of 7.62x54r in wooden crate cost me 82 Sydney to Brisbane. I know others have bought bulk from clever and shipped interstate. In their case buying in bulk including frieght was cheaper than their local. Really depends what you're after.

Just out of curiosity do you know if the size determined that price? Or is the fee just the fee plus whatever the normal shipping would be?

Sounds like it's gone up a lot.

I read a year ago (or thereabouts) it was about $90 for dangerous goods.

Well, what I was worried does not necessarily mean that is what the actual shipping is. Shipping could be half that and shop's "handling" fee could be another 90, to drop cost on products but compensate on shopping. Who knows...

Not bad for a few 10 minutes packing a box.
