If you hand a kid a sighted in rifle they can look pretty good, if they are being a smart ass make a few scope adjustments before handing them the rifle, I would do this anyway it helps with the learning process when they figure out what's going on..

i have a dodgy ticker so he beats at most things .

mate i'm jealous of him as he shows no real enthusiasm for shooting just a sporadic now and then interest in it .

it's a pity you should see him shoot my 260R and 7mm mag out to 1200 yards .

and yes i ust to teach the juniors at the local pistol club .

that will never happen with any of my kids as i have drummed in to then to check and double check all settings for a cold bore shot and as we shoot

around a lot of stock we can't afford to miss .

How do you find the 260Rem compare to the 7mm Mag?

Figures on the 260 look impressive, do you reckon the extra recoil of the 7mm is worth it?

muck of a muchnes recoil doesn't bother me thats why i don't use muzzle brakes

but the 7mm is a bit light on energy for deer past 900 yards .

having said that because of the pending price rise a box of pills will soon approach $100

so i'm looking at selling the 7mm and rebarreling my 223 with a 1:8 twist to shoot 80g

pills out to 900y .

You did mean 7mm rem mag right, not 7mm-08?

7mm mag is out of juice at 900m? :unknown:

yes on both counts unless you can put the bullet within 3' of where it has

to go with such low energy and at 900+ thats not as easy as it sounds

10 out of 10 times .

i can only do it 3 out of 3 times watch it full screen for full effect

errrr... even with huge energy, i don't think 3' from you POA will reliably drop tough medium game, or in many cases hit it....

Sorry, just being a smarty... i assume you mean 3". ;)
