If you're still mulling over your purchase, with regards the Tikka T3X, I heard from an LGS last week, that with the pending arrival of the Tikka T3X, the T3's that are left in stock, may be coming with a T3X mod kit to help clear out T3 stock left, including metal bolt shroud, some other stock adapt-ions, approx $250 or more worth of kit. I'm not sure if it will include metal recoil lug, and be nothing with ejection port, but that kit, on top of the discounted to clear price of the T3's that are happening, it may be of interest to some, who were already toying with T3X or T3 comparison for their next purchase, but are not wanting to wait however many months until the particular T3X model coming in is available.

Welcome shadd.

Don't know legal deer caliber for NSW, but would probably be similar to VIC which is a .243 for Hog, Fallow and Chital Deer and a .270 for Sambar, Rusa and Red Deer.
You may find you need extra paper work to hunt deer.
