The ultimate rifle ?

Post by Die Judicii » 08 May 2016, 11:54 pm

I'll more than likely never live to see this innovation/development, but the concept is mind boggling.

Imagine,,,, a Laser rifle. :o  :wtf:

No more compensation for trajectory,
No more worry about wind drift,
No more hearing loss,
No worries about deflection off twigs etc
No more messy cleaning with lead/copper solvents,

And the big positive,,, Your meat will be already smoked when you pick it up.

Downside would be that in summer you'd need a fire truck as a shooting buggy.

The man who invents a better battery/alternative form or energy storage will be a rich man indeed.

Simple,,,,,,,,,, Just bounce off one of the yanks satellites. :silent:

And if you wanna go the other way, bounce off the Russian satellites,

Then tell both of them that the Iranians did it.

I'm hoping to see a decent portable rail gun within my lifetime, some good prototypes and working models doing the rounds on YouTube that look cool.

Laser weapons are more advanced than people might realise...'blinding' and stunning purposes.. i believe there are agreements in place to keep them off the battlefields because 'it's not cricket' like using expanding bullets...

Rail guns will possible be in active use on ships in the very near future...

rail guns and lasers are in trials on US Naval ships. Google it. They recently shot down a missile with a ship mounted laser in a test.

I have a 250 Watt YAG laser. I've been tempted to zap my neighbor's dog but I won't do it.

The Crows around here show up, don't make a sound, eat bugs, then split the moment they see a person. It's obvious they are being shot at. I don't have anything for them to mess with, so they are actually good neighbors.

I don't have a working digital camera. It's not impressive looking. It's a 9x2x2" plastic block with gold shields inside. It has two ports for cooling water. Inside that is a lamp and a pink rod. The rod is pretty cool. It would not be practical to take it into the field.
