Marlin 336 Big Loop for first lever action

Post by riggee » 10 Nov 2013, 11:00 am

G'day,

It's time for me to get my first lever action :D

The new Marlin 336 Big Loop looks good to me. Comes in classic lever action 30-30 if you're a purist ;)

Pros, cons?

Cheers.

One thing I'll give Marlin, is the lever action handle curves away from the stock to match the curve of your hand.

Most match the curve of the rifle grip which is the opposite of the hand.

Looks nice, but don't feel nice.

I know what he means.

If you clench a fist like holding a grip the curve of your knucles goes up, but the ring of the lever curves down following the stock, not your hand.

I've got a Marlin 1894 in 44 rem mag and I love it.

Bit of an offshoot from what you're looking at but a vote for Marlin lever actions anyway :)
