Thunder Ranch 12Ga U/O with 00Buck, reasonably light, tough and I don't give a rats ass if I drop it, run over it or break it. Up bush it's the first thing outta the car and is never too far outta reach, I even keep it next to me in the swag of a night. Am I paranoid ??? Nope, being alone far from any assistance and s**t scared of snakes and wild dogs many would do the same :D

Depends on where we are, what region, size of property and expected quarry.... I would carry either a 12g double or a 22 bolt, because the rabbits and foes would be encountered, occasional Roo, but couldnt shoot them.

I'd say the 12g is the more 'go to' as the different ammo would alter the versatility of the gun

I carry at least one handgun at all times, G19. I generally have an AR-15 near me, which I grab when something seems strange. I have a Mossberg 9200 shotgun slightly hidden in the kitchen for my family, which are not really into guns, but know how to use shotguns..

MkX .308 it's accurate and will take out anything that shouldn't be on my farm from rabbits... (Not really a problem on my place) right up to goats and pigs.

Savage Mod 24 combo in 12g / .223

At least you've got a choice then. Just like carrying two firearms at once only easier.

My 30-30 ( Win. 94 ) was always my go to gun but now the eyes aren't as good & a scope makes things easier so I tend to use my 250/3000 these days ;)

My standard UTE rifle back in South Africa was always a Howa in 6.5 x 55. They say that no caliber is magical, but that little sweed is so close that I called it Houdini.

I'd say for me it's Nonnos old Beretta silver pigeon pump action 12 gauge . It's a very nice old gun , functions well for its age and it packs a punch on foxes at 10-100m with #4 shot shells. The other choice would be the Howa 1500 .30-06 , although it's out of action at the moment because the scope buggered up . It's a top gun that is light, accurate and hits like a bloody freight train on anything from rabbits up to the biggest deer that are on our second farm

Taking a fox at 100m with #4 shot in a pump action is extremely impressive. Thats about 40m further than my best shot ever on a rabbit with a DT11 using #3's,

Not much around here that a big stick thrown hard enough wouldn't fix up, so it's usually a 22 for a walk around or the 223 to pop a few off at a distance.

They do make non-returning boomerangs, so technically can still be one if you just chuck that stick
