Has anyone used a Winchester model 70 from 1970's? I'm interested if anyone could tell me about there experience and thoughts about the rifle.

Thanks in advance.

They were 'sloppy' and to be avoided.

The current crop from Belgium / Portugal are the 'ducks guts'.

I had them in the 80's.....lots of variance... Now there is the true model 70... A real rifle...and then there was the model 670. The best way to tell them apart was the magazine. The 670 was a blind built in mag. The true model 70 had a swing out or down floor plate.. The .670 was the "cheaper" of the two. Also there was pre 64, model 70 which are worth big money, and post model 70, which were sometimes called "the rifle mans riffle"

There was also another model, called a 777. They were made by Nikko in Japan, very "pretty" rifles with thin barrels, but they worked ok.

Can you post a photo.....?????..... I should be able to tell you straight up what your dealing with.
