IPSC costs and time

Post by Supaduke » 21 Jun 2016, 1:15 pm

I was wondering if some of our more knowledgable members could enlighten me.
I have looked at starting IPSC a few times and I am interested in finding out some of the more practical aspects of the hobby. So my questions are
-how many rounds would you expend during an average comp?
-average cost per round to reload 9 mil using average components
- how long is an average comp day?
- cost per year of membership fees (little river)
- what fees do you pay on the day?
- what do you think one day's competition costs you? Fees, ammo etc.(excluding food and drink)

Any input greatly appreciated
Just trying to work out the realistic budget required for this hobby
Thanks in advance

Assuming a 2 day level II comp;
200-250 rounds
22c per round for me reloading 9mm
Start at 8am normally finished by 3pm
$60ish entry fee

Sydney metro club $5-600 membership per year

I normally shoot a club match every weekend say;
80 rounds
3 hours
Range fees included in my membership

I also did 2 practice sessions a week last summer and plan to do the same come October;
100 rounds a session
2 x 1 hour sessions
Range fees included in my membership

Don't work it out.
You don't want to know and, more importantly, you don't want your significant other to know.
