Does anyone have any experience with these? They look good and I'm a Winchester fan but not to the exclusion of all else. The tikkas also seem good but I've never used either (plenty of experience with Winchester model 70s in general though). Calibre would probably be 22-250.

Hey mate,

See my signature, I have exactly what you're looking at, a Winchester Model 70 Coyote Varmint chambered in .22-250 Remington.

I'm a bit of a Winchester fan, but it's tops to me.

Tikka fanboys will be along shortly to tell me I'm wrong

Plenty of Tikka shooters here, myself included.

For the price they're a fine rifle.

I've got two T3's in .243 and .300 win mag. Both straight shooters and never had a problem with either.

Something specific you want to know? Or just getting the general thumbs up?

Definitely trying to get a general idea. I just came across them online but have never seen/held/used one so any first hand experience would be helpful. I guess in my mind the tikka is the main competitor so any positives or negatives of either would be helpful. As I said, I'm already a fan of Winchesters so I imagine I'll like it but equally they're not exactly cheap either.

The new model 70's are really well finished I've got one of the supergrades in .270, great rifle
the new triggers are good for a USA made rifle, you can adjust them down reasonably low
and they are very crisp ,go for it

Tikka is just a good solid rifle IMO.

Can't give you any amazing positives or serious negatives.

Shoots accurate, action is very smooth compared to some others. A grand for a rifle is about as cheap as they get without getting something rubbish.

Just plain good.

Thanks for the input folks, everyone has been very helpful but it seems like the coyote is a great gun that is hard to fault in any significant way and even when compared to its competitors the differences are easily trumped by personal preference so I should just get what I want. Is that fair enough to say?

They're both quality firearms mate, but at the end of the day you have to like it. Personal preference like you say.

Sounds like you're pretty set on it.

Go for it :D
