Sportco 33 .222 Magazine

Post by Coasty » 16 Oct 2016, 5:17 pm

Hello Chaps,
My dear old Uncle Bill lent his old .222 out and they lost the mag, He was a government shooter back in the day and the treble 2 was his gun of choice, needless to say you can't buy a new one for love nor money, hence this post.
It's not the flashest gun nor is it in the best condition, but not everthing in this world needs to be shiny to have a value, so if anyone has or knows of anyone with a spare mag and would be willing to part with it, we would be most appreciative,
Cheers.

Thanks so much for all your help chaps,
A Sportco 33 mag turned up on the Australian Hunting Forum & an eagle eyed reader who new I was looking messaged me straight away, long story short, put half a dozen rounds through her thisavo, mission accomplished,
Thanks again for everybody's help
cheers

Thanks for that Bladeracer, unfortunately by the time the friend of the friend got there to buy it , it was already sold , so still looking, apparently a Remington 788 mag might fit? I think they may have bought out Omark/Sportco back in the day ? but not sure about that.

Can you find a 788 in a gunshop that might let you try their mag?
Otherwise they're not too expensive to get one out of the US on spec and sell it if it doesn't work - there are two on Usedguns for A$150 currently.

If you're bringing it into Oz you'd need to have the Customs B709 before ordering it.
Numrich have them for US$37 for example.

Brownells.com.au list 788 mags but not in .222Rem for some reason.

Hi Carl. I assume you mean 22 hornet. You can also search for savage 23 mags as these are the same as the sportco hornet mag.
Rebel gun shop still advertises them. $95.
