There's still a few of Wile. E Coyote's ideas that I haven't tried yet.

Shame we didn't get to play with them yesterday as our monthly long arms comp day was washed out but at least we get to play this coming Sunday at a mid range gong shoot. This time we start at 350 yards to 600 yards.

Now that is a nice collection.
I've been asked: "How many guns do you need to have?" My answer remains the same: "One more."

Nice to look at and even better to shoot !..

Hey Noisy, you and lady Noisy need to start a BP shooting "re-wilding / re-education style" camp at the Noisy ranch.. To be honest, I haven't been able to think about much else since coming out to play ( reckon you mob knew that would happen though  )

I do know that when my overly stretched budget allows, I'll be going BP shopping... :)

My white powder hardware hardly sees light of day either.

Smokeless powder and jacketed bullets are just a passing fad. :D

My dad won't own a smokeless rifle, will have a shoot of some of mine occasionally but not that interested.

I must say it was rather refreshing to see that some don't get caught up in fads.. when I visited the Noisy Ranch and pulled out the synthetic .300 win mag...

A younger member of the Noisy mob said "whats that thing It looks funny".. :)

Didn't take long to form the assessment that, I had just met a great example of Aussie youth  Well versed in firearms (safety and use) Darn good shot too btw..

I was really quite surprised to meet a member of the younger generation so passionate about BP firearms including the history and safety etc..

Guess that's what happens when you are surrounded by positive influences ! :drinks:

There is something about sending over 500 grains of lead flying 1000 yards down range, waiting for the smoke to clear, then a while later the reassuring "ding" when it hits the "Buffalo" target. :D

You mention waiting for the smoke to clear Gamerancher :D I learned at the Noisy Ranch, you should stay up wind when spotting for for BP

when my brother was alive we both had hawken copys i still do he would get free lead seal they were used we made 1000s of 50 cail round balls i still have lots of them.
the sad thing for me is as i have got older it has got harder for me to see the front sight in low light so i got a modern inline so i could scope it it just dont feal the same when i hunt with it.
