I am watching a show on SBS that has a scope on a .338 and if you push the red button and hold the trigger the rifle will not shoot until all things line up.It calculates everything fall distance earth curve temp.pretty amazing

Company called Tracking point designed it.
Chris Kyle the sniper noted in American Sniper movie his wife won a comp in his honour few years back using one.

Will never be allowed in f-class.

They are basically design to make it quicker and cheaper to train a marksman.

Watched the same show. There was an "anti-gun" side commentary going on throughout the show. Their basic theme was that these units could be used by any idiot to become an "expert" sniper and start killing people from a mile away.

Can't see how they can accurately correct for wind at longer ranges. Wind can be all over the place and if it is only reading at firing point you could still be off by meters way out yonder.

You are spot on Gwion, in a test from the top of a hill shooting down at an 870yd target they were off to the left and that was the explanation. Still shot pretty well despite that, I certainly wouldn't want to be the target!
