Value of Remington 700 Mountain ?

Post by Die Judicii » 20 Jan 2017, 7:58 pm

At this stage I can't put up a picture except for my avatar pic.

I'm just wondering what my Remington 700 Mountain rifle would be worth ? :unknown:

30-06 cal, Laminate stock, in excellent condition, open sights, and fired only 7 rounds.

Suggestions please ?

Have a look on used guns and see what sort of money they are going for, will give you some idea of what to expect, how old is it?

Just looked at a well known gun shops site (Melb) and they have the new price for bare rifle listed as $1930

Mine currently has a new silver Leupold VXII variable sitting on it.
I am toying now with maybe selling it as a complete unit.

I was surprised to see that they certainly have gone up in price. :o

Yeah but are they selling at those prices? I saw plenty of them on used guns at what I consider to be over priced prices but not sure how long they have been sitting there advertised at those prices. I guess just watch a few and see if they are moving at the prices asked for and go from there, you'll soon see if you are in the right price point or not.

Good luck with the sale mate

Just had a 1972 (we think) Rem 700 in .17 Rem transferred from the Father in law in Qld.The transferring dealer there offered us $2000 for it.We declined his offer and would rather keep it in the family.Bit light on the trigger, but a lovely piece.

Holy crap Batman.
Is it a bare rifle or does it have accessories with it ?

Just has an old Tasco 3-9 on it but the old man has kept in in lovely condition. Not a mark or spot of rust on it.
He only handed it on because he's 84 now and let his license lapse.

May I ask why you're selling it? Just not getting enough use?

Yeah Mate, no worries.
Am just looking to upgrade again, so there is absolutely nothing wrong with it.

I have for quite a few years now traded, sold, and bought till I have better and better quality stuff.
I look on them as a sort of investment / superannuation, that my kids will benefit from.
