well i've come to the conclusion pete that fireforming brass for my 250 is a PITA :P and it seems 25 cal has a quirk were accuracy only gets good near max pressure. 260 brass is hard to come buy at times compared to 243 and the man-bun, but i think as a hunting round it's a great thing , bit more speed than the 6.5cm with 130's and under, but it doesn't take 140's as well as the 6.5cm. off the shelf brass for 6.5cm has gotten more common and cheaper . locally i had the option of rem brass $85 , but i bought 2 bags of 50 brass for $105 per bag of sako branded brass . really nice looking stuff to .
only you can answer which caliber suits your needs best . i remember you get onto deer , 308 is a no brainer , i've found ADI brass to be very good . last bag of 50 i bought was $76 . no big deal losing 308 brass in the bush , it's plentiful . i'm not a 243 fan , over bore barrel burner with a horrible shoulder on the case . that's one thing about the man bun, it's basically designed with a ackley style shoulder and a good neck length for consistent neck tension . ignoring all the hype and marketing hoo-ha , it's technically pretty darn good design . due to the hype people tend to have high expectations and try to push it to do more than you should . i see the 6.5cm as a bit more capable round than the 243 , but as a hunting round it's not the equal of a 308 . i couldn't care less about 1000 yard ballistics :)
