Yeah the studs aren't great on the crossovers, bit of an invisible flaw IMO - I had trouble with the front stud on my la101, mainly because I always use either an m1907 or a Ching sling as the stabilizer for 3-position target. The constant rotational changes was breaking down the stud thread over time. To fix it I simply drilled out the front stud completely, countersunk the top side, and replaced it with a flat/cup-head bolt + pre-drilled a nut to clip the swivel on to.

BTW, was it the front stud that's stripped on your la102?

A few more details regarding this I documented in viewtopic.php?f=2&t=7719&p=122167#p122167
At what point does lack of maintenance become patina?

That's s**t :/

Can you fill with a bit of epoxy or something and screw it back in to set?

Yeah mate the front stud would come out allowing the bipod to flop aroud loosely not sure if this was under recoil or what, but lithgow gave me a new stock, so thats was good of them

You can glue the stud in - I've known people to do it (on other rifles), but the permanency scares me. Ideally the sling swivel should swivel anyway, so was a no brainer for me. Because I used a 3/16" bolt I can always screw the original stud back in - best of both worlds.

I've had the same problem recently, got a brand new plastic LA102 as a warranty replacement, I think the first (maybe second) walk I took it on the sling swivel (middle one) started coming out and can't be tightened, had to attach the sling to the front swivel for fear of dropping my rifle.
