What do you guys think about this for a first 308, by the looks of it I would say it's an XP2?

They're not a bad bunch in that shop, not a bad rifle eaither, a mate owns one and it was the first 308 i ever shot, wouldn't hesitate in buying one for a knock around rifle, hows the price compare to a ruger american?

I think around 700 so not that far off what's the difference in quality between them do you know

Never held/shot/looked at a ruger american but people rave about them ( in a good way ) for $700 difference i'd just get the savage and call it a day.. whats it for? As for the cash back at a guess i'd say so it comes out of savages pocket instead of the gunshops profit

My bad I meant the ruger is 700 and the savage is 474

And that makes sense

Cheap. I wonder what the trigger is like? Marlin x7 was cheap too, and great trigger, but I believe now discontinued. Bummer. I have two and very happy with them.
