What gun would you NOT shoot (recoil wise)

Not talking about not wanting to put up with the recoil of a bigger calibre as you're regular shooter, but as a once off experience shooting something big.

Nitro, T-Rex, whatever...

Just thinking for fun.

What gun would come out that would make you think, Nah, no thanks!

Something with more recoil than both barrels of a 12G. My very first hunting experience was with a borrowed, twin-trigger, twin hammer jobbie and I must have had both my fore finger and middle fingers inside the trigger guard............... :o
Never did it again

Yep shoot them all once, someone with a 500 or 600 nitro offers you a shot you take it, you may never get another offer like that.

There isn't a shoulder fired rifle I wouldn't have a go at, same with pistols :)

500 nitro is heaps fun, you would have to be mad to turn a shot down!

I agree mate. The only thing more fun than shooting a big double rifle is watching a 60kg fella fire both barrels at once

Haven't met it yet, but I am large and heavy. At 10 a .303 was a touch savage, didn't stop me firing it again though.

Simultaneous firing of both barrels of a double barrel 10 gauge magnum. Had that happen with a 12 gauge in 2 3/4 chamber. wouldn't do it for a 10 gauge Maggie.
I've been asked: "How many guns do you need to have?" My answer remains the same: "One more."

So many people are saying that they have pulled both barrels at the same time (yes accidentally.) I am good friends with multiple gunsmiths and they say that you can split your barrels by doing this. So if you have a double trigger I suggest leave a .5-1 second between shots.

This thing:

Not really obsessed with big guns anyway but if I could afford to get into real long range stuff I'd be happy to have one of Brett's custom 50's.

I reckon it'd be fun as well, but not at Australian prices.
US$1500 but A$3355 for the base model here.

A piece of priceless wisdom which I gained from a Champion full bore shooter and excellent coach.

"You have to like what the the rifle is doing to you".

Get into that and you can then begin to shoot from a low / stable but physically poor recoil absorption position and also appreciate things like torque reaction on the rifle as the projectile gains rotation.

The same coach had a small supply of F4 plastic blanks, he would offer to allow the student to maintain position whilst he reloaded the rifle, he would then feed a blank into the Omark and watch.

Flinch is an accuracy killer, any damn fool who puts a kid or green shiela behind a big rifle first off is compensating for having a really small dick.
