Desert Tech - anyone actually used one?

Particularly the SRS.
Are they good or just like anything else?
There is a big part of me that sniggers like a kid at the idea of a .338LM that only avoids being a handgun in QLD by about 5mm, especially with a muzzle brake. Obnoxious, silly, unnecessary but potentially a whole lot of fun.

So who has used one? Was it fun or meh?

Personally, ever since I saw one blow up at little river, bit apprehensive about them. 99% sure it was some sort of reloading error but it did put me off a bit.

They sure do look mean though.

And no it wasn't an obstructed barrel or squib. It was the guys first shot and there was a hole in the target.

I own one in 6.5x47, truly a thing of beauty, it is a very special gun, and no I don't regret its price tag for a second

How is the bull pup config with the bolt action?
Do you have a muzzle brake?

I have a Barret M98B in 308 with a 16" barrel, so I'm used to being down the end of the line at the range with all my friends ;-)

I have a few of the DTA rifles, 2 HTI chassis with 3 conversions (375 416 & 50) along with a SRS in 308 & 338. No issues at all and they perform extremely well, I've killed game at 1248m with the 375 Cheytac, 450m with the 338 and a DTA 50 scored best group at 600 yards competition in Mildura comp before last.
How's my posting?

Very tempted by the SRS covert in .338.

I was lucky, got a great deal from Magnum Sports, paid less than $6k.
Now having shot it, i'd pay full retail, and for Andrew, the bull pup config takes a few shots to get used to but now it is better than a standard rifle.
I'm never going back!!

Was that used price? New just the chassis is around $5K and then another $3K for the 338LM conversion kit.

I was looking to pick one up in 338LM
