You complete me...

Post by scaredyet » 14 Jul 2017, 4:15 pm

Hey guys,

After much thought and research I have now put the last piece of my firearm puzzle. I have purchased a Marlin 1895 SBL 45-70.

I think that about does it for me. I have enough firepower to take any game in Australia.

Yes I will get roasted no doubt, but I'm not too fussed. I still haven't had the time to shoot but I'm contempt at having the firearms in my safe doing nothing.

Kind Regards

scaredyet, I feel like you are at a wall, it looks to you like brick, but it's actually printed paper. You just need to give it a little push. Sure you have a 45-70. And caliber XYZ, me too... Everyone here has. Except for the Oldbloke, he just has muskets in different colours. But what about the "just because guns" - that's the fun part. You could start with Mosin and Enfield in carbine versions and a Mauser. That seems to be a standard set. Move on to different makes and models of those. Perhaps something more unique like a single shot black powder something... Or old straight-pull rifles? You only think you are done. I thought I was done. But, alas, I am not done. :/ Then of course you realise you need a range gun... Maybe another .22, one for killin` one for plinking. And another because you just liked the colour.

And then, then, we can start talking reloading supplies... I'll leave that for you to think about :)

Yeah, I want to buy another one before I start school Monday, maybe I'll let you have a play and maybe clean them for me as you seem like you got nothing better to do. İf you don't like what I have to write why do you bother posting a reply, you doubted I had the firearms then I posted a pic, so what's the deal mate

Not sure of the need to be disparaging, bloke just wants to talk about a gun. I haven't seen or read anything to make me a disbeliever. Throw up a couple of pics. I like 45/70's, fun gun.

I have actually joined a collectors club in NSW so this is an option for me I just have to get around to apply for it and I also want my H licensed as well

Why to have different guns in same calibre:

22lr
223rem
222rem
22-250
22hornet
And on, and on....

Why to have different guns in the same cartridge/chambering:
Example- 22lr
One for walk around small game hunting.
One for rimfire silhouette
One for hunter class bench rest
One for heavy class bench rest
One for f-class rimfire
One for your mate to use when you are plinking...... One for you to use while you're plinking.... One for you wife/girlfriend.... One for the kids to learn on..,.,

308win:
One mountain gun for trekking, light for stalking in steep country or long trips, bolt action.
One short, heavy(er) barrelled pump for knocking down lots of pigs quickly
One heavy varminter for picking off predators and scavengers at range over a baited carcass or at a water hole.
One for silhouette
One for full bore Target Rifle
One for F-class standard.

Mind you, all this would entail quite a bit of shooting! :p
Enjoy collecting your rifles.
