Missing SMLE bolt

Post by Grizzle » 07 Sep 2017, 9:41 pm

Hi all,
This is out of the west field, but I am hoping beyond hell someone can help.
I have a really nice SMLE, Lithgow, made April 1945. It has all matching numbers apart from the bolt.
Number is 38512 on everything but the bolt. I'd really like to have the original but my chances of finding it are close to nothing.
If all you MISURP guys could check any spares you have for that number, I'd be wrapped.
Thanks in advance guys.

G'day Grizzle,
I agree with your estimate of odds for finding your bolt, but nothing ventured, nothing gained. None of my bolts are even close, but I will pass the number on to some other collectors as well as a couple of "specialist" military rifle dealers I know. Just don't hold your breath, OK? Cheers.
