Always a great pleasure to see Hickok back at it again.

Yeah, it's sexy, but really it's a generic rifle like any other rifle, though I do like Ruggers. If 7.62x39 was dirt cheap, I'd be all over it, but it's not a cheap round and there are better calibers and rifles, if cost of ammo is included. So sexy - yes, but I like them cheap and dirty.

Where can I buy 308 ammo at $25 a box?

Rebelgunworks do it and those are the only two I checked so there must be others. I think Rebels discount for bulk purchases as well, and they ship ammo.

Honestly though, in what ways is a 30/30 better than 7.62x39? Yet I can think of plenty of aspects of the 7.62x39 that are superior to the 30/30...

Rebelgunworks - excellent, but will ship to TNT depo, not your home. You'll need to go and pick it up. However, for $50 or $60 flat ammo shipping fee, that's hard to ignore.

RGW were happy to ship to my address as long as there was somebody here to accept it. I can't guarantee I'll be down the house when it arrives, and they won't call ahead, so I offered to pick it up from the depot in town. Pretty easy and I can't think why others can't do similar. It's only really viable for ammo you can't get locally though. If your dealer is able to get what you want then put your business through him first, even if it costs a bit more.
